The other Prof. Bassett in Penn's School of Engineering & Applied Science, is my husband, Lee C. Bassett. He studies quantum dynamics in nanoscale materials and devices using optics and electronics. His group seeks to better understand complex quantum-mechanical systems, with a goal of developing new technologies for communication, computation, and sensing based on quantum physics. We welcomed our wonderful J. Silas into the world in 2011 and A. Simeon in 2014!
I have a twin, Prof. Perry Zurn, Department of Philosophy at American University. He researches broadly in the fields of political philosophy, gender theory, and applied ethics. His work specifically contributes to critical prison studies and curiosity studies. We've written a few papers together, on neuroscience and curiosity.
